Ancient SUSANI Turkomanno

Very fine ancient SUSANI that comes from Uzbekistan and dates back to the end of the 19th century. It has a feature that is not a defect: on the one hand the design has brighter colors, on the other more subdued. But it is not (as it might appear at first glance) a discoloration: it has been embroidered with different colors. As it is a nomadic product, there are two cases: when the silk is finished, the embroiderer has prepared a new color bath, but it has not come the same; or he deliberately changed the color to give more prominence to the top, perhaps to hang it. ref.
