Mason's Patent Ironstone China, Large XIXth century covered

Exceptional large vase in "iron stone" in Chinese taste, created by the English firm Mason's Patent Ironstone China in the 1st part of the 19th century.

The decor is very delicate and fine: birds, flowers and butterflies in color or gold, fly on a deep blue background.
Signature in the lid: mark on one line, signifying a production date between 1813 and 1820.

Good condition; 1 hair and some chips below, some chips at the neck (see photos)

Ironstone porcelain, translated as "iron stone", is a kind of pottery made for the first time in the United Kingdom at the beginning of the XIXth century, by Staffordshire potters: they were looking at the time to produce a large quantity of quality porcelain for the then very demanding market.

These objects are renowned for their resistance (hence the word "iron") and above all this material made it possible to produce parts with impressive dimensions for the time.

The pottier Charles Mason seems to be at the origin of the development of the ironstone, he in any case deposited the 1st patent in 1813.
